Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Prep Time: 10 min
Cook Time: 45 min
Total Time: 55 min
Servings: 10 slices

Cookware Needed:

  • Mixing Bowl or mixer
  • Loaf Pan
  • another bowl (2 cup pyrex will do)

Grocery List:

  • 3 – ripe bananas
  • 1 – egg at room temperature
  • ⅓ – cup of melted butter (6 TBSPs or ¾ stick)
  • ¼ – cup white sugar
  • ½ – cup brown sugar
  • 1 ½ – cup all purpose flour
  • ½ – tsp baking soda
  • ½ – tsp salt
  • ½ – tsp vanilla extract (I was out and subbed vanilla coffee syrup, very tasty in a pinch)
  • ½ – cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Recipe:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F
  2. Combine the bananas, butter, sugar, and egg and mix thoroughly.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking soda, then slowly add to the banana sugar mixture.
  4. Add in the vanilla flavoring and then stir in the chocolate chips.
  5. Scoop the mixture into a parchment paper-lined loaf pan and bake for about 45 minutes. You will know it’s done when a fork comes cleanly out of the center.
  6. Allow the banana bread to cool, then slice into 3⁄4-1 inch slices.
    • Notes:
      • if the bananas are too lumpy, try mushing them with a fork
      • add in other mix-ins like pecans, walnuts, or other fruit
