Cookware Needed:
- stand mixer
- 2 cup measuring cup
- baking sheet
Grocery List:
- 1 – stick of unsalted butter (room temperature, ½ cup)
- 1 – large egg (room temperature)
- ½ – cup granulated sugar
- ½ – light brown sugar (packed)
- 1 – tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 ½ – cups of all-purpose flour
- ½ – tsp baking soda
- 1⁄4 – tsp baking powder
- ½ – sea salt
- 1 – cup chocolate chips
Recipe:
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Combine the sugars, vanilla extract and butter into the stand mixer and mix until creamy.
- Add the egg and mix well.
- Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into a separate 2 cup measuring cup or small bowl. Use a spoon to incorporate the powders.
- Slowly add the flour mixture to the stand mixer. You may need to pause and push down the dough from the sides.
- When the flour mixture is combined with the dough, remove the bowl from the stand mixer and fold in the chocolate chips.
- Spoon heaping teaspoons onto a baking sheet and place in the oven for 8-10 minutes. When the edges just start turning brown, remove the cookies from the oven and let them finish cooking on the baking sheet for 5 more minutes.
- Optionally, sprinkle with sea salt and enjoy!
