Cook Time: 10 min
Total Time: 20 min
Servings: ~30 cookies

Cookware Needed:

  • stand mixer
  • 2 cup measuring cup
  • baking sheet

Grocery List:

  • 1 – stick of unsalted butter (room temperature, ½ cup)
  • 1 – large egg (room temperature)
  • ½ – cup granulated sugar
  • ½ – light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 – tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ – cups of all-purpose flour
  • ½ – tsp baking soda
  • 1⁄4 – tsp baking powder
  • ½ – sea salt
  • 1 – cup chocolate chips

Recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. Combine the sugars, vanilla extract and butter into the stand mixer and mix until creamy.
  3. Add the egg and mix well.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into a separate 2 cup measuring cup or small bowl. Use a spoon to incorporate the powders.
  5. Slowly add the flour mixture to the stand mixer. You may need to pause and push down the dough from the sides.
  6. When the flour mixture is combined with the dough, remove the bowl from the stand mixer and fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Spoon heaping teaspoons onto a baking sheet and place in the oven for 8-10 minutes. When the edges just start turning brown, remove the cookies from the oven and let them finish cooking on the baking sheet for 5 more minutes.
  8. Optionally, sprinkle with sea salt and enjoy!
