Cookware Needed:
- Microwave safe bowl
- 9” baking pan
Grocery List:
- 2 – medium apples
- 1 – package Pillsbury Cinnamon Roll dough (regular or grands)
- 1 – TBSP brown sugar
- 1 – tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 – TBSP water
- ½ – stick of melted butter (4 TBSPs)
- ⅓ – cup brown sugar
Recipe:
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- Peel, core, and dice the apples, then add them to a microwave safe bowl with the tablespoon of brown sugar, water, and teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Then, microwave for 3 minutes to soften the apples.
- Open a package of Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls (regular or Grands will do) and cut them into quarters or sixths.
- Grease a 9” baking pan and add the cinnamon roll dough bites. Drain the microwaved apples and add them to the pan as well.
- Combine the melted butter and ⅓ cup of brown sugar and pour over the Apple monkey bread dough mixture. Bake for 30 minutes.
- Drizzle the cinnamon roll icing over the monkey bread and serve warm.
Notes:
- Doubles well into a 9 x 13” pan
- Try adding nuts like pecans or walnuts, or other fruits
- Keeps well in the fridge for a couple days
