Maple Brown Sugar Cookies

Cookware Needed:

  • Stand Mixer or Mixing Bowl
  • Baking Sheet

Grocery List:

  • 1 – stick room temperature butter (½ cup or 8 TBPS)
  • 1 – room temperature egg
  • 1 – cup dark brown sugar
  • ½ – cup 100% pure maple syrup
  • 2½ – cup all purpose flour
  • 1 – tsp baking soda
  • ½ – tsp nutmeg
  • ½ – tsp cinnamon
  • ½ – salt
  • ½ – cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • ½ – cup white chocolate morsels (optional)

Recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. In a stand mixer or mixing bowl, combine the butter, egg, brown sugar, and maple syrup and mix until thoroughly combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt and stir briefly to combine.
  4. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the stand mixture.
  5. Optionally, add mix-ins like pecans or white chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop ~2 tsp dollops onto a baking sheet and bake for 8 minutes. Remove from the oven when the edges start to brown.
  7. Serve warm with milk.

Notes:

  • The dough chills well and keeps in the fridge for a few days.
