Prep Time: 5 min
Cook Time: 25 min
Total Time: 30 min
Servings: 20 bars

Cookware Needed:

  • mixing bowl
  • 8 x 8″ square pan or 9″ round pan

Grocery List:

  • 1½ – sticks of melted butter
  • 1½ – cups light brown sugar
  • 1½ – cups flour
  • 1 – large egg room temperature
  • 1 – large egg yolk at room temperature
  • 1 – tsp salt
  • ¼ – tsp baking soda
  • 1 – tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ – cups semi-sweet morsels

Recipe:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Combine the butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and brown sugar in a mixing bowl and stir.
  3. Add the flour, salt, and baking soda to a small bowl and stir, then add to the sugar mixture.
  4. Stir in the chocolate chips or any other favorite mix-ins, then transfer to a greased baking pan.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes; it’s okay if the center is still wiggly when you pull it out of the oven.

Notes:

  • Try adding nuts, white chocolate chips, or dried fruit as mix-ins
  • I remove these from the oven when the edges are turning brown, but cook up to 35 minutes for crispy blondies.
