| Servings: 3 – 4 oz ahi tuna steaks |
Cookware Needed:
- Cast-iron pan
Grocery List:
- 3 – four oz Ahi Tuna steaks (i buy these frozen from aldi, they are ~$5 for the 3 pack)
- 2-3 – TBSPs soy sauce
- 1 – TBSP sesame oil
- 1 – TBSP honey
- 1 – TBSP vegetable oil
- 1 – TBSP sesame seeds (i like both regular and black but any are good)
Recipe:
- Combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, and honey in a bag, then add the ahi tuna steaks to marinate. Allow them to sit for at least 10 minutes, or until dinner time.
- Add the vegetable oil to a cast-iron pan and heat it over medium-high heat to sear.
- Remove the ahi tuna from the marinade and coat it in sesame seeds.
- Sear the tuna steaks for 45 – 60 seconds per side, then transfer to a cutting board and allow them to rest for a couple of minutes.
- Thinly slice with a sharp knife and serve with your favorite sides like white rice or fresh mini cucumbers.
Notes:
- I like to pour the extra marinade into a sauce dish and use it for dipping.
